Back to School Program

STEP provides new school supplies and backpacks to St. Louis Park children whose guardians cannot afford school supplies.

STEP accesses school supply lists from the local school district and packs bags accordingly. If children attend schools outside of St. Louis Park, parents are encouraged to provide a list at the time of registration and STEP will make every attempt to accommodate this list.

Back to School supplies registration is July 10-August 18.

Registration is for St. Louis Park children grades K thru 12 in need of school supplies.

Register your student by coming to STEP (6812 W Lake St, St. Louis Park) either:

  • During the following hours: Mon & Wed, 8am – 11am & 12:30pm – 3:30pm; Tuesday, 12:30pm – 3:30pm & 5pm – 7:30pm; Thurs & Fri, 8am – 11am (No appointment necessary, may need to wait for soonest available staff member.)
  •  OR during your regular food shelf appointment.

Documents needed to register:

  •  Photo ID
  •  Current utility bill or an apartment lease
  • Birth certificate or passport for each child unless you have previously provided it to STEP. Other verification may be valid if it contains the birth date

Programa de Regreso a la Escuela 2017

Regístrense para los Útiles Escolares de STEP Julio 10- Agosto 18

STEP estará distribuyendo útiles para la escuela a los niños que viven en St. Louis Park entrando en los grados K-12.  Regístrense en una de dos maneras:

  • Durante su cita para comida o
  • Durante los siguientes tiempos (sin cita)

Lunes & Miércoles 8am-11am & 12:30-3:30; Martes 12:30pm-3:30pm & 5pm-7:30; Jueves & Viernes 8am-11:00am

*si viene durante estas horas hay que esperar a que un  trabajador esté disponible. 

Para registrar hay que traer TODO LO SIGUIENTE-SIN ESTAS COSAS NO PODREMOS REGISTRARLES

  1. Su ID con foto (licencia de manejo o ID del estado)
  2. Bill de gas, luz o contrato de renta para verificar dirección
  3. Si no registro su hijo el año pasado necesitamos uno: record de vacunas, record médico, acta de nacimiento, record de la escuela, o pasaporte para cada niño. Es necesario que trae la fecha de nacimiento. (NO aceptamos tarjetas de seguro social)
  4. Lista de útiles de la escuela si su hijo/a va a una escuela fuera del distrito de SLP.

Holiday Toys – Seasonal 2

Toy Shop and Holiday Gift Cards

STEP serves infants through age 10 with gifts in the toy shop. STEP provides gift cards to children ages 11-17. This is held during the month of December and preregistration is required. Interested parties should contact STEP in November for registration dates and times.

Address verification is required and document must be postmarked within last 30 days. Acceptable forms of verification include: lease, utility bill, or local, county, state, and federal government document. STEP also requests verification of the child’s birthdate in the form of a birth certificate, passport, or government document.

STEP Holiday Toy Registration 

Tuesday November 1 through Friday December 9, 2016

Infants to 18 year olds living in your home in St. Louis Park are eligible for STEP’s holiday gift program.

Register your children one of two ways:

  • During November food shelf appointment OR
  • Drop in between 11/1 and 12/9 during the following hours (NO Appointment Necessary):

Mon & Wed 8am – 11am & 12:30pm – 3:30pm or Tuesday 12:30pm – 3:30pm & 5pm – 7:30pm

Or Thursday 8am – 11am or Friday 8am – 11:30am

Please expect to wait if you drop in to register.

Documents needed to register:

  • Picture ID
  • Current utility bill or an apartment lease

Birth certificate or passport for EACH child unless you have already registered them at STEP for the Toy or School Supply program in the last year.  Other verification may be accepted as long as it contains date of birth.

Certificado de nacimiento o pasaporte para cada niño a menos que haya registrado CADA niño para el programa de regreso a la escuela de ESTE AÑO.  Otros verificaciones oficiales de fecha de nacimiento serán aceptados también.

STEP provides holiday food during the month of November as part of our daily food shelf experience. Clients also receive a gift card to the store to purchase holiday meat. Interested parties must make a food shelf appointment during the month of November.
