Want to lend your voice to STEP? We are seeking applicants for STEP’s new Client Advisory Committee. Help STEP become more impactful. 

The Committee will: 

  • Provide recommendations to enhance the STEP client experience 
  • Assess STEP’s programs with DEI lens to ensure inclusive, diverse, and accessible programming for clients and the community 
  • Serve as ad hoc on short-term events such as special events  
  • Serve as an advocate for the organization  

The advisory member can be a tremendous influence and complement the effectiveness of the Board of Directors and staff. Other benefits include:   

  • Complement the skills of the governing board members   
  • Give back: Opportunity to share expertise, insights, and experiences to develop emerging board leaders   
  • Work with peers: Experience valuable networking opportunities 
  • Engage in strategic dialogue and participate in robust discussions that will help shape the organization in the future and assist the organization in responding to trends and community needs   
  • Sharpen leadership skills: Participate in committee work and sharpen leadership skills in a supportive environment with the opportunity to fill available board positions 

Example of issues the committee will provide guidance on: 

  • How STEP can better reach community members. 
  • Feedback on culturally relevant food available at STEP. 
  • Ways clients can be invited to be part of public communications and fundraising for STEP. 

Members will be selected by the Board of Directors and serve a one year term. The committee will meet at least four times a year, plus one Board of Directors meeting. A $50 stipend will be provided for each meeting attended in the form of a gift card. 

 Complete the one-page application and turn it in at STEP’s front desk. The initial application deadline will be June 27, 2025. Four to six applicants will be selected for the committee. Applicants will be notified by July 30.
