STEP: St. Louis Park Emergency Program

The St. Louis Park Emergency Program’s mission is to identify, address and respond to the critical and emergency needs of residents in St. Louis Park.

We are the St. Louis Park community food shelf and social service agency. We directly provide food and clothing to residents in need, as well as advocacy, referrals, and build a collaborative relationship. Since 1975, STEP volunteers and professional staff have been empowering lives and restoring hope.

Our vision is to be the trusted resource for connecting community members with resources to fulfill their basic needs.

STEP Food Shelf Service Hours

STEP’s food program requires calling 952-925-4899 and making an order to be picked up. Calls and pick up times can be generally made during these hours.

Mondays: 8am to 4pm
Tuesdays: 12pm to 7pm
Wednesdays: 8am to 4pm
Thursdays: 8am to 3pm
Fridays: 8am to 12pm

STEP Clothes Closet (Suspended)

STEP Donation Hours – Foodshelf Only

(Not Accepting Clothing At This Time)

STEP appreciates food and personal care item donations, but encourages minimizing numbers of trips outside the home and personal contact.

Donations can be left in the Donation Bins in the front of the Knollwood and West End Cub Foods during business hours as well as at Vista Lutheran Church on Tuesdays (until 5:00) or Saturdays (until 3:00).

**NEW!! Donations can now be brought to West End Artisan Market to receive a gift certificate for a free slice of Muddy Paws Cheesecake! Located at Shops of West End, next to Yard House; Market hours are Wednesday-Friday 11-6, Saturdays 10-6, and Sundays 11-3.

Food donations can be brought to the red door facing the alley at STEP during the below times.

Mondays: 8:00-3:30pm
Tuesdays: 12:00-7:00pm
Wednesdays: 8:00-3:30pm
Thursdays: 8:00-3:30pm
Fridays: 8-11:30am

* Be sure to check STEP’s calendar for days closed due to holidays or special occurrences. We will also post closures on Facebook and Twitter. STEP generally follows SLP Public Schools for inclement weather closures.

FOOD SHELF

STEP provides confidential food shelf services to those in need residing in St. Louis Park.

STEP requests residents make an appointment to use the food shelf by calling 952-925-4899.

Services are delivered by licensed social workers and STEP volunteers.

STEP requests a picture ID and verification of St. Louis Park address at the initial appointment and annually thereafter; postmarked within past 30 days.
